UI/UX design

UI/UX design is an interface that both looks right and gets the person using it where they intended to go. INDOLES treats design as a chain of decisions that remove obstacles on the path to purchase, not as visual preference.

Sound familiar?

This service steps in when one of these is true.

  • The site looks good but visitors cannot find what they came for.

  • Every new page looks different; there is no shared system.

  • It is hard to use on mobile and customers cannot finish on their phone.

Scope

What it covers, and what it does not.

What's included

  • User flow mapping

The steps a visitor takes to reach their goal are mapped; extra steps and dead ends get marked.

  • Wireframes

Content layout is drawn before colour and imagery enter — what sits where gets decided early.

  • Interface design

Typography, colour, spacing and buttons are set in line with the brand language; every screen comes from one system.

  • Design system

Repeating pieces (buttons, cards, forms) get defined in one place. New pages are assembled from the system, not designed from scratch.

  • Mobile design

The small screen is treated as its own layout, not a version adapted afterwards.

  • Accessibility check

Colour contrast, type size and keyboard use are checked — readability has to work for everyone.

  • Developer handoff

Dimensions, colour values and behaviours are handed over in writing so developers do not have to guess.

What's not included

  • Frontend coding and site development — covered by custom software
  • Logo and corporate identity creation — handled under brand strategy
  • Illustration, animation and video production
  • Content and copywriting
How we work

Four steps, each leaving something in your hands.

  1. 01

    Understanding

What the user came to do and where they currently struggle is established. Existing screens are reviewed if there are any.

    You get

A user flow map and a list of current obstacles.

  2. 02

    Wireframes

Layout is drawn without colour or imagery. At this stage the discussion is about content, not aesthetics.

    You get

Wireframes for the main page types.

  3. 03

    Design

Wireframes get dressed in the brand language, with decisions on typography, colour and spacing. Desktop and mobile advance together.

    You get

Designed screens and the design system components.

  4. 04

    Handoff

Design files go to the developer with dimensions and behaviour notes, and questions get answered during implementation.

    You get

Handoff files and support during implementation.

Frequently asked

The questions asked most before deciding.

What is the difference between UI and UX?

UX is about how many steps and how easily a user reaches their goal; UI is about how those steps look on screen. The two are inseparable: a poorly structured flow does not work however good it looks, and a well-structured flow that looks bad does not earn trust. INDOLES runs both as a single piece of work in this service.

Do you also code the design?

Coding sits outside this service; INDOLES hands the design over to a developer with dimensions and behaviour notes. If INDOLES is to build it as well, the custom software service comes in and the two are combined on one schedule. If you have your own developer, the handoff files are prepared in a form they can use directly.

Do we have to redesign our existing site?

A full redesign is not always needed. If problems cluster on particular pages, only those get addressed; if the problem is inconsistency between pages, building a design system is usually a more lasting fix than redesigning. INDOLES makes the call after mapping the user flow and presents the reasoning alongside the findings.

How long does the design process take?

Designing a site of five or six page types usually takes four to six weeks: one week for flows and wireframes, two or three for the interface, the rest for handoff and revisions. What stretches timelines most is delayed feedback, so INDOLES plans a single consolidated approval round per stage. If scope grows, the schedule is renegotiated openly rather than quietly slipping.

Do we keep the design files?

Design source files are handed over in editable form at the end of the engagement; nothing stays locked in an INDOLES account. That way, if you work with another designer later, you do not have to start over. The design system is delivered the same way, so the in-house team can build new pages themselves.

Do you run UX audits, or only new design work?

If screens already exist, the work starts by going through them: where users struggle is mapped and the blockers are listed. The output of that step is a user flow map plus a list of existing blockers, so the audit happens as a precondition of any new design. If the findings do not call for a redesign, we say so in writing.

Do you design mobile apps as well?

Mobile screen design is in scope, and the small screen is treated as its own layout rather than a version adapted afterwards. Building the app sits outside this service; the coding runs under custom software and mobile. Taken together, the two are merged into one schedule and the handoff file goes straight to the build team.

What is a design system and why build one?

A design system is the single source where repeating parts — buttons, cards, forms — are defined once. With it in place a new page is assembled from existing parts rather than drawn from scratch, and inconsistency between pages ends at the source. The system is handed over in editable form, so the in-house team can produce new pages itself.

How is accessibility checked?

Colour contrast, type size and keyboard operation are checked. Those three decide readability not only for users with impairments but for anyone on a small screen or in bright sunlight. The check happens during design, because fixing it after coding starts means reopening colour and layout decisions.

Who writes the text on the screens?

Content and copywriting sit outside this scope; you or your copywriter supply the text. Design proceeds with real copy, because a screen drawn around placeholder text usually overflows or looks empty once live. If the brand language itself needs writing down, the voice and tone guide is produced under brand strategy.

When is UI/UX design the wrong choice?

If visitors never arrive, no one sees the design — traffic comes first, and that sits with performance marketing. If the loss is concentrated in one step, measuring and fixing it is faster than redesigning, and that belongs to conversion optimisation. If only a logo or corporate identity needs refreshing, that work is handled under brand strategy.

A UI/UX design agency or design consulting — which is needed?

A UI/UX design agency mostly produces screens; consulting decides which screen is needed and why. The first question when working with a UX agency is whether what gets delivered is a visual or a decision. UI design and UX design are separate jobs as well: one builds how the interface looks, the other builds what the user does at each step. INDOLES delivers both and writes down the rationale behind each decision.

What the work produced

We rebuilt İstanbul Ortez Protez's digital presence from the ground up: a mobile-first site, a renewed brand identity, and content optimised for both search and AI engines. In 15 months we reached the top 3 for priority keywords and won more than 50 brace and prosthetics patients.
